A Warehouse Management System that will improve your full warehouse operations.
Our EDGE Warehouse Management core controls all aspects of the warehouse operation facilitating operatives to enhance cash flow, reduce costs, improve end-to-end efficiency and provide enhanced levels of customer service. The system embraces cutting edge technology and is agile in its approach in order to flex to ever-changing market demands.
Features of the Edge Warehouse Management System
The system delivers a fresh user experience, embraces the latest technologies, and is easy to deploy and integrate into all business systems. Most of our customers will deploy a scanning or voice handset to deliver the highest level of accuracy and efficiency. If required, Minster can be installed as a traditional paper-based system at the start and upgraded to scanning or voice later.
Fully Voice-Controlled Warehouse Management
The Minster Warehouse Management System offers a fully device-driven option.
This allows the operation to send all the operative activities such as receiving, putaway, picking, stock counting and despatch to a handheld device. Such devices have proven benefits in accuracy, efficiency and allows instant visibility to every process in the operation. Voice or scanning devices saves you time and money with a user-interface system that is intuitive and flexible.
Benefits of the Minster Warehouse Management System
The module removes the need for paper documents within the warehouse and allows operators to work hands-free. It is a fully automated, real-time system utilising devices such as Talkman® A7 range voice terminals. All instructions are relayed to the operators via headsets with actions confirmed by speaking into a microphone. The Minster voice-controlled WMS can be used throughout all areas of the warehouse, including specialist environments, such as freezers.
Voice control can reduce dispatch time by up to 80%
The system continually monitors the warehouse activity and outstanding tasks whilst automatically updating priorities and coordinating tasks to achieve the greatest overall efficiency. The system works in real-time and knows exactly when each picking operation takes place, therefore ensuring that replenishment movements are actioned at exactly the right time.
In addition to improved efficiency, the Minster voice-controlled WMS results in increased accuracy. Verification codes on locations, products, pallets and vehicles are quoted by the operators and checked in real-time to ensure operators are at the correct location, picking the correct product, and loading the correct pallet onto the right vehicle.
Shelf-Life Control & Batch Traceability
The Minster Warehouse Management System also offers a Shelf-Life Control feature which ensures customers’ ‘best before’ date requirements are satisfied, and stock is rotated correctly.
In the event that a batch or delivery needs to be traced, the system provides full tracking facilities from goods receipt, through the warehouse to customer delivery. The software delivers reports showing locations and customer names in receipt of the traced product, assisting your business in delivering the best customer service possible whilst maintaining your reputation.
The EDGE warehouse management system is suitable for warehousing, distribution, and logistics that require high performance, scalability, and configurability.

The three basic elements of warehouse management are as follows:
These three things give your team the tools to deliver a clear and reliable service to your customers. It allows them to plan and execute your service level agreements. Adding voice or scanning to the operation will improve all three basic areas and will help to put you in a good position for fast growth.
The six basic principles of warehouse management start with the basics of visibility, accuracy and productivity - these are key to any warehouse management success. Together with security - physical and data - and safety measures, these five basic principles will serve you well. However, the final principle and perhaps the most important is people. Invest in your people through good recruitment, suitable training, reliable equipment and genuine team-based goals and you will have a warehouse that is well managed and highly productive.
Warehouse management is important as it is the difference between having an effective and efficient operation to one that is not performing. For a wholesale, distribution or manufacturer a warehouse is where they can add value without changing the product. Fulfilling an order on time, the first time has value for clients. Think how long you'll keep buying from a business that keeps sending goods in drips and drabs, sends you the wrong product or sends you damaged products. How much love will you have for a business that can't tell you when your order will ship, that can't tell you when they're expecting new stock, that can't tell you if you need to return stock on a recall? Put the right systems in place to allow your warehouse to be managed effectively and your business and your customers will reap the rewards.
